Notice about Layout

The internet is a volatile technical space and changed immensely since the blog started in 2014 and some browser/device combinations now disrupt the layout of this blog. The data sequence is Burial/Memorial Location, followed by the Names. There is a blank space placed after the last name for clarity - but this doesn't work reliably anymore. And finally for 1915...

The graph below shows the highs and lows of the year
  • The "best" day of the year came just a few days into the year - 4th January 1915 when only 76 fatalities were recorded.
  • the worst day of the year was  25th September 1915 - when 10,292 died (also the worst day of the war to date as well)
That worst day was mostly experienced in the Pas De Calais at commencement of The Battle Of Loos. A total of 6,685 are commemorated at the Loos Memorial, amongst 8,402 casualties are recorded there on that day.

This graph show the 1915 toll
